Random Thoughts On Socialism
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of “liberalism”, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened”.
Norman Thomas
Socialist Presidential Candidate
“America is getting socialism on the installment plan through programs of the welfare state…. Americans may not be willing to vote for a program under the name of ’socialism,’ but put on it another party label — whether liberal, Republican or Democrat — and they’re by and large in favor of the idea…. We have no real socialist party, no socialist ideology, but we have a large and growing degree of what 50 years ago would have been recognized as socialism.”
Earl Browder
Former Head of the US Communist Party
First we would note that these quotes are dated but even after admitting that we would immediately contend that they could have been written yesterday.
Second we would note that what is written here is absolutely true. Both major parties today represent a Socialist agenda. Republicans tend towards more of Fabian Socialism while Democrats tend towards more of a rabid Socialism.
Third we would note that the teleology of all such socialist programs is dying and death. Socialism produces the Carnivore State.
Fourth we would note that since Socialist regimes are consuming regimes and not producing regimes the consequence is war and Empire. Socialism is a parasitic political and economic paradigm. As such it must have a host off which it can feed.
Fifth we would note that Socialism is a political and economic system wherein the reality is established that in the State all people will live and move and have their being. Socialism is a system that in defiance to God’s Salvation is intended to provide salvation without and apart from God. The idea of a Christian Socialist therefore is offensive, rude and downright obtuse, though as Christians who seek to be generous we allow for people’s inability to see the impossibility of the oxymoronic combination.
Sixth, Socialist societies will always have some form of law that is based on positivism. Since Socialism does not allow for God or for nature’s law it denies any appeal to any transcendent law except the transcendent State where the law is given its meaning. The intent of a Socialist State in regards to its law order is to bring in salvation.
Seventh, Socialism requires the elimination of all currencies backed by a Gold or Silver standard since the presence of real money brings a standard that is outside the State and beyond the control of the State. As such Socialist societies will always have some form of centralized banking where the State can control the meaning of money. In this country that institution is the Federal Reserve Bank.
Eighth, Socialism ostensibly seeks to build a Kingdom of man utopia despite its dsytopic ways.
Ninth, Socialism, as it seeks to own everything, so it seeks to claim a culture’s children. It does so through its educational arm. Education, as provided by the Socialist state is seen to provide redemption by knowledge. Education in a Socialist society is the catechism.
Tenth, Socialism believes in Freedom and Liberty for the State and secures that liberty and freedom by enslaving individuals.
Eleventh, Socialism requires an evolutionary ethic and a process philosophy orientation since the State is always becoming. There is no outside standard to measure the State except the ever-evolving standard that the State sets for itself.
